Val d’Isère maintains its top ten world resort ranking by constantly reinventing itself. Work has started on the 200 € million transformation of the village centre, providing 900 extra guest beds and an underground moving walkway to the main access lifts. Le Coin de Val is the most ambitious regeneration project this century in the French Alps.

This coming winter also sees the transformation of the country’s oldest cable car station into the highest hotel in France.

A new 10-person gondola opening in December 2018 will transport skiers from the hamlet of La Daille.

Val d’Isère is the most snowsure major resort in the Alps with guaranteed cover from November to May.

Average snowfall over the past five years: 550cm. Snowfall in Winter 2017/18: 885cm Indeed, so much snow fell that Val d’Isere is re-opening some of its winter pistes and lifts on June 3, 2018.
