World Ski Awards has confirmed the signing of iSKI as its latest partner as final preparations are put in place ahead of the annual Gala Ceremony.

The event, the only global initiative to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence in ski hospitality, returns for a second year to welcome leading international figureheads and decision makers to A-ROSA Kitzbühel on November 21st-23rd.

The full three day programme consists of luxury chauffeur driven airport transfers to and from the five-star A-ROSA Kitzbühel, exclusive networking events, private skiing on the slopes of the world famous Hahnenkamm, sight-seeing tours and a host of other networking activities.

The highlight of the event will, of course, be the glittering red carpet World Ski Awards Gala Ceremony itself on the evening of November 22nd.

Commenting on the latest partnership, World Ski Awards Managing Director Sion Rapson said: “It is a great pleasure to welcome another industry leader to the roster of World Ski Awards partners. iSKI is the perfect collaborator for our 2014 event; an industry leading product that is working to redefine how skiers access the latest information while out on the slopes.”

He added: “Representatives from the brand will of course be joining us at A-Rosa Kitzbühel for the Gala Ceremony, so it will be a great opportunity for us all to learn a little more about this world-beating product.”

Produced by Austrian tech giant Intermaps, the iSKI smartphone app is the only source of information required for the perfect day skiing. The latest data about weather and snow depths is sent straight to your phone, as well as information on open ski lifts and ski runs - neatly arranged on ski panoramas – to help you to find the right skiing to meet your needs.

With its fresh snow forecast feature the iSKI App also provides a unique service for deep and fresh snow aficionados. And, thanks to the latest avalanche situation report, you can also take the necessary steps for a safe day skiing.

Further features allow you to record your ski days, compare yourself with your friends and take part in the iSKI Trophy.iSKI is available in 16 of the most important ski nations in the world – including Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Poland, Russia, USA and Canada - with country-specific apps.

More than 1.4 million users have already downloaded the free app, which runs on iOS, Android and BlackBerry.“

We are very proud to be a key event partner for this year’s World Ski Awards. It is an opportunity for us to present our iSKI domains to a large audience at what is sure to be a great Gala Ceremony,” explained Christian Vonnach, Chief Executive of Intermaps AG.“

High quality and a shared belief in superior performances are at the centre of our cooperation. Through this important connection, Intermaps will build upon its already strong reputation in the eyes of a leading industry audience.”

As well as accolades for the best products from the world’s leading ski tourism nations, awards for the ‘World’s Best Ski Resort’, ‘World’s Best Ski Hotel’, ‘World’s Best Ski Chalet’, and ‘World’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel’ will be presented by World Ski Awards in 2014.

New to the 2014 programme will be awards for ‘World’s Best Ski Tour Operator’, ‘World’s Best Ski Travel Agent’, ‘World’s Best Ski Resort Company’, ‘World Best New Ski Hotel’ and ‘World’s Best New Ski Chalet’.

Spain will also enter the pantheon of the top 21 ski nations to be honoured.
