Lake Louise Ski Resort, found in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, has once again been crowned "Canada's Best Ski Resort" at the 2024 World Ski Awards. This marks the resort's tenth win in the past twelve years, a testament to the quality of its unbeatable slopes.

Home to the breathtaking Lake Louise and 4,200 acres of pristine slopes, the resort offers world-class skiing and snowboarding opportunities that draw enthusiasts from around the globe, year on year.

Lake Louise takes top honours

Located west of the town of Banff, Alberta, the resort is situated on the southern slopes of the Slate Range within Banff National Park. Its expansive ski area encompasses four mountains and is blanketed with an average of over 700 inches of powder snow each year.

As one of Canada's sunniest spots, it also is known to have an average of 45 clear and sunny days, each and every season.

Carved by the elements: Lake Louise's natural terrain

With 145 trails in total, the destination offers runs against a backdrop of dramatic peaks, glaciers, and the iconic turquoise waters of Lake Louise. Alongside towering snow-capped peaks, including the park's two highest, Mount Temple and Mount Fairview, that frame the dramatic landscape and skyline around the valley of the lake. Whether closer to the peak or the base, each run is an opportunity to witness the raw beauty of the Canadian Rockies from all angles.

But the best feature? From its summit to its base, the resort boasts a thrilling 3,150-foot vertical drop. For those seeking to see the best of it, the Glacier Express Quad Chairlift provides access to high-alpine terrain and steep, challenging slopes that would otherwise be inaccessible to visitors.

Head down Lake Louise's top trails

The destination provides a range of slopes, accommodating both beginner and expert skiers and snowboarders alike. For those advanced visitors, the Delirium Dive is a well-known double black diamond run, known for its steep, technical terrain and exposed cliffs across much of the course. Alongside the infamous "ER3" chute, where many extreme professionals head to, which is widely considered one of the steepest and most difficult runs in North America.

On the other hand, the Whitehorn run (downhill only) on the North Face offers a more moderate challenge, winding through gullies and tight spines providing stunning views of the surrounding peaks. While beginners and intermediates can head to the gentle slopes of Wiwaxy Creek, perfect for anyone learning or clipping in for the first time.
