On 17 January 2022, the winners of the annual World Ski Awards were announced. Experts from the ski industry as well as ski tourists did cast their votes at the awards. In Syöte, Finland, there is double reason to celebrate. While Hotel Iso-Syöte has won the "Best Ski Boutique Hotel" award for the 9th time in a row, the KIDE Hotel by Iso-Syöte has been voted the best ski hotel 2021. 

The awards for the best ski resorts 2021 in the Nordic countries go to Levi (Finland), Åre (Sweden) and Geilo (Norway). Levi and Geilo are defending their title from the previous year. 

Winners in Finland

The award for Finland's Best Ski Resort 2021 goes to Levi Ski Resort for the second year in a row. Also nominated were Pyhä, Ruka, Salla, Iso-Syöte and Ylläs. KIDE Hotel by Iso-Syöte came out on top in the Best Ski Hotel 2021 category, Rukan Salonki Chalets won as Finland's Best Ski Chalet 2021 and Hotel Iso-Syöte was again delighted to be voted Finland's Best Ski Boutique Hotel. Winners in Sweden

While Funäsfjällen in the Swedish province of Jämtlands län was named Sweden's best ski resort in 2020, this year the ski resort of Åre prevailed. The three other winners from Sweden all defend their titles from last year: Hotel Bügelhof in Sälen (best ski hotel 2021), Eriksgård Fjällhotell (best ski boutique hotel 2021) and Skutan Ski Lodge in Åre (best ski chalet 2021). Winners in Norway

The southern Norwegian ski resort of Geilo is named Norway's best ski resort for the third year in a row. Nermo Hotell (Best Ski Boutique Hotel 2021) and Havsdalgrenda (Best Ski Chalet 2021) also defend their awards. There was a change in Norway's best ski hotel.
