World Ski Awards has arrived in Austria ahead of the Gala Ceremony 2014, this year to be hosted at A-ROSA Kitzbühel on November 22nd.

World Ski Awards, the only global initiative to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence in ski hospitality, returns for a second year to welcome leading international figureheads and decision makers to the Alpine resort.

The full three day programme, taking place from November 21st-23rd, consists of luxury chauffeur driven airport transfers to and from the five-star A-ROSA Kitzbühel, exclusive networking events, private skiing on the slopes of the world famous Hahnenkamm, sight-seeing tours and a host of other networking activities.

As final preparations are put in place, World Ski Awards Managing Director Sion Rapson said: “It is an honour to be back here at A-ROSA Kitzbühel for our Gala Ceremony 2014. This world-class resort is the perfect location for us to welcome the leaders of the ski hospitality industry.

“The World Ski Awards is an opportunity for us to offer the recognition these leaders in our field so richly deserve. With the ballots cast and the counting complete, all that remains to be seen is who will walk away with the coveted trophies.”

As well as accolades for the best products from the world’s leading ski tourism nations, awards for the ‘World’s Best Ski Resort’, ‘World’s Best Ski Hotel’, ‘World’s Best Ski Chalet’, and ‘World’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel’ will be presented by World Ski Awards in 2014.

The evening will be hosted by UK television star Ms Ela Clark and will welcome a host of Austria’s finest entertainers as guests enjoy a sumptuous banquet at A-ROSA Kitzbühel.

New to the 2014 programme will be awards for ‘World’s Best Ski Tour Operator’, ‘World’s Best Ski Travel Agent’, ‘World’s Best Ski Resort Company’, ‘World Best New Ski Hotel’ and ‘World’s Best New Ski Chalet’.

Spain will also enter the pantheon of the top 21 ski nations to be honoured.

World Ski Awards is the sister organisation of World Travel Awards.

Tickets to the VIP gathering are by invitation only.

About World Ski AwardsLaunched in 2013, World Ski Awards aim is to drive up standards within the ski industry by rewarding the organisations that are leaders in their field.

Votes are cast by professionals working within the ski industry – senior executives, travel buyers, tour operators, agents and media - and by the public (ski tourism consumers).

Votes are submitted online at World Ski Awards website.

Last year's inaugural World Ski Awards, attended by ski industry heavyweights from the 20 leading ski nations, saw the title of World’s Best Ski Resort go to Val Thorens (France), while Bighorn, Revelstoke (Canada) took World’s Best Ski Chalet, Aurelio Lech (Austria) won World’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel and World’s Best Ski Hotel went to The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch (USA).

In a special presentation at the end of the evening, the WSA Academy presented the accolade for Outstanding Services to Ski Tourism to Dr. Josef Burger, Chief Executive of Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel.

The 2014 Winners will be announced at the World Ski Awards Ceremony, taking place at the A-ROSA Kitzbühel, Austria on November 22nd 2014 as part of a three-day programme of VIP events and activities.

World Ski Awards is the sister organisation of World Travel Awards, currently celebrating its 21st anniversary.
