And the winner is ...

Meet the winner

Thredbo Resort has enjoyed an incredible start to winter 2023. Continuing to focus on delivering a world-class guest experience, Thredbo offers a completely unique Australian snow holiday with its range of premium on-mountain experiences, a huge line-up of free events on and off the snow, an unparalleled calendar of après events and of course, access to Australia’s best skiing and snowboarding.

Opening Weekend was an absolute hit with guests celebrating the start of the season with a non-stop schedule of events, live music and entertainment on and off the mountain. On opening night, Thredbo hosted its first après event of the season, which resulted in huge numbers turning out to Alpine Bar to dance under the fireworks and see some incredible female talent bring the stage to life.

A big storm arrived in mid-June which saw snow continuing to fall for an entire week, resulting in a total early season snowfall count of over a metre. Skiers and snowboarders have descended on the resort to enjoy riding Australia’s steepest and longest runs – almost double the amount of vertical terrain than any other Australian resort – and riding Australia’s only alpine Gondola.

For beginners, Thredbo is the ultimate place to learn with a range of lessons and programs for all ages and abilities, as well as special programs and tours for those wanting to expand their horizons and try something new.

With its vibrant European-style village, one thing that really puts Thredbo Resort in a league of its own is the winter events and entertainment calendar, offering Australia’s biggest and most diverse range of festival-style après events, kids snow festivals, action-packed skiing and snowboarding events and more.

Whether it’s watching the sunrise over the mountains and enjoying a mimosa breakfast before getting first tracks or riding a snowcat to the iconic Kareela Hutte on-mountain restaurant for a 4-course dining experience, Thredbo’s wide range of Unique On-Mountain Experiences truly takes a Thredbo visit to new heights.

Thredbo makes significant upgrades every year to ensure each winter is better than the last and 2023 was no different with the resort introducing new events and experiences, boosting booking numbers for its hugely popular on-mountain experiences, debuting Australia’s newest ski lift, adding to the already significant snowmaking fleet plus lots more.

Looking forward, Thredbo will continue to make even more resort-wide developments with construction now underway for a new year-round Alpine Coaster that is planned to launch in winter 2024, as well as continuing the roll out of its 10-year chairlift replacement plan that will update and improve existing infrastructure.

Thredbo… It’s the place to be this winter!
